8.8.14

Hello everyone!

Wow it has been forever since I have written for the blog. Never enough time! Well since I wrote last I have been transferred to Puerto Madryn and I am in my second transfer here. Puerto Madryn is a beautiful beach town situated on a gulf. It really is a great place! The members here are great and help us so much with the work. We have seen so many miracles here opening a new area. The Lord really does bless us! My new companion is from Chile, a really great guy! We have about 3 great families that we are teaching and we are hoping for some baptisms in about two weeks! I have been out now for 11 months and they have been 11 hard but great months. The Lord has been with me every step and helped me through it. I really have seen the tender mercies of the Lord. I hope that everyone back home is doing well and that everyone can always remember out Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in every moment of our lives, not just the bad ones. I know that Christ lives and through His atonement, we can live. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored and how blessed we are this day and age to have a living Prophet and Apostles on this earth. Until next time!

Love,
Elder Jeppson

Hello everyone!

Well i think we can come to the conclusion that within the set of skills the Lord gave to me, keeping up a blog wasn't one of them! It has been quite a while since I have written and so many things have happened! I am still here in Trelew in the same area, working hard! We have quite a few people who are listening and coming to the knowledge of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. It really is amazing to be able to help these people! The miracles that I witness have helped grow my testimony that I know, without a doubt, that the restored Church of Jesus Christ exists on the earth this day. Our Heavenly Father loves us and blesses us so much! I hope you all know how much your Heavenly Father knows you personally and loves you. Thank you to everyone for your prayers and support while I serve the Lord.,

4.14.2014

Hello everyone!!
Wow it has been probably a month since I have written on the blog!  The time just goes by so fast and things are so busy!! Things here in my new area are going well. The new area has a lot of work to be done and lots of people to visit! We are always super busy which is a great thing!! This week started a new transfer, or a new set of 6 weeks. My companion, Elder Meadows, left for Comodoro and I have received a new companion, Elder Kirts! The work is progressing every day. Just a couple of weeks ago we had the opportunity to listen to General Conference. What a great experience it is to listen to the living Prophets and Apostles. I love General Conference so much because we recieve revelation for this day and age and because it is proof of the restoration of the Gosepl of Jesus Christ. Just as He called Prophets and Apostles, we too have prophets and Apostles in this day and age because His church was restored on this Earth. The mission is such a great opportunity to share this Gospel. Every day, my faith in the Lord and in His plan is strengethened as I excersise my faith. It is such a great opportunity that we have in this life to progress and learn. The Lord sent us here not to just be tested but to also experience the joys that come of mortal life, usually which are experienced through the families that we have. As this week is Easter, I invited you all to think of Jesus Christ and what He did for us. As we follow the example of Jesus Christ in this life, we will arrive to be the people that He wants us to be one day. I invite all of you to ready and study the life of Jesus Christ, especially His marvelous resurrection. Thank you all so much for your prayers and love and support. Have a great week!!

Hello Everyone!!

Well it has been some time since I have written a blog post! So much has changed!! About 3 weeks ago I left Rio Gallegos and my area of San Benito to come up north to Trelew at the top of our mission. My companion is Elder Meadows from Grant's Pass, Oregon. A great guy! We have a great time together! The work has been a little slow in this area but we are working hard trying to get things picked back up. The Lord  is hastening His work because these are the last days. All of us who have a knowledge and testimony of His restored Gospel have a responsibility to share this Gospel with all of those around us! Being a missionary every day is such a privilege for me, I love the experiences that I have and the things that I learn. I love helping people and seeing them come to knowledge of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. To watch peoples eyes light up when they hear that Christ's church is here on the earth again is an experience that could never carry a price. It is a sacrifice well worth making! We have started doing lots of contacting (just talking with people in the streets, knocking doors at houses) and it is quite difficult. People are pretty rude at times! But we never know who will be the person that our message changes their lives. We never know exactly who needs the Gospel in their life. We just have to do our part and leave the rest to the Lord. Thank you all for your prayers. They strengthen me every day as I try to carry out the Lord's work. Have a great week.

First Baptism!!!

What a past few weeks it has been! My companion and I have been working super hard and in particular with someone really special, Claudia. This past saturday, she was baptized! Claudia has been such a miracle. We met Claudia through some friends who are members of the church in our branch. We set an appointment to visit Claudia and when we visited with her, it was an amazing experience. Claudia was first introduced to the Gospel about 6 years ago but because of certain circumstances, could never get baptized and become a member of the Church. However, recently her circumstances had changed and she felt that us coming to visit her was her sign from Heavenly Father that it was time to take the next step! The Spirit was incredibly strong and continued all throughout the week as we prepared her for baptism. Those of you who read this blog know that the work in the area I am in right now is really difficult but this is proof that the Lord has people prepared in ALL parts of the world, that the Lord´s timing is not our timing and we never know when someone will be ready to be baptized and become a member of the Lord´s restored church.

I would like to discuss the importance of baptism. As Christians, we believe in following the example of Jesus Christ in all things. Jesus Christ set the example of baptism by immersion. Two important parts of His baptism we follow today. Jesus Christ, being a perfect man, walked a large distance to find John the Baptist, who had the proper authority to baptize and was baptized by immersion. The Savior taught, "Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." John 3:5. If the only perfect man to walk this Earth was baptized, every human being has need to be baptized. To do otherwise is to say that we do not have to follow the example of Jesus Christ. The two special things I mentioned were 1. The proper authority to baptize and 2. baptism by immersion. Thanks to the restoration of the fullness of the Gospel that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has, we have the authority, or Holy Priesthood, to baptize. Just as Jesus searched for someone who had the proper authority to baptize, we too should be baptized by someone of the proper authority. The second important part to the example of the Savior´s baptism was that of immersion. Baptism is a word derived from the Greek word "baptizein" which means to immerse. Baptism, like many religious ordinances, is symbolic of burying the sin filled spirit and the rebirth of a new clean spirit. The idea that baptism is not necessary, that it can be performed by any person and in any manner is an idea of the adversary (Satan).

As we follow the Savior´s example in this life, we will receive blessings. Those of you who have been baptized by the proper authority, think about the covenants that you made at baptism. Those of you who have not been baptized in the proper manner, the opportunity and blessings are waiting for you! Think of the importance of baptism. I testify that baptism is an absolute necessary step to return to live with our Father in Heaven. What a blessing it is to have a beautiful opportunity such as baptism to be forgiven and given a new start. I know and see the blessings that baptism brings into the lives of people each and every day. I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have to help others be baptized. Thank you all for the love and support you give to me while I do this work.
